# November Cook-Off rating calculation

0 When will rating changes occour for November Cook-Off? asked 23 Nov '17, 00:29 6★bazsi700 397●9 accept rate: 11% I'm waiting too (23 Nov '17, 00:36) kunnu1202★ "Soon"........:p (23 Nov '17, 00:41) 1 @vijju123, Sorry for bothering about the same thing again, but I had asked you in a thread about November Long Ratings being inconsistent / not updated post the plagiarism check. My ranking was 500 odd pre-plagiarism check and now is 430 odd. So the rating would supposedly change (even codechef rating predictor says so). Similarly, ratings of people caught in plagiarism check are yet to be updated. There are people with 7000 rank in November Long and a +150 rating. (23 Nov '17, 00:57) dwij285★ 1 Hey dear, sorry for late reply. I got multiple mails stating the issue as well, so must have forgotten to reply to some. The issue is notified to @admin and they have thelist of people to penalize. But currently they are dealing with something else, so once its done, the penalties would be handed over without delay. Hope that clarified :) (23 Nov '17, 12:06) I guess it won't be calculated before LT. (25 Nov '17, 17:27) bazsi7006★ Seems so. Looks like they will combine the rating updation for the two contests + penalize the ones in long altogether. They were busy fixing some bugs when I last inquired them, and requested for some time. (25 Nov '17, 23:00) @admin,@vijju123 will our rating for cookoff calculated based on rating we get in recalculated rating in nov long or the one we presenly have? is the same logic applicable (nov cookoff, nov lunchtime)? (25 Nov '17, 23:02) As far as I'm aware, they'll first update for cook off and then calculate for lunchtime according to new ratings. (atleast how it should be i guess.. (25 Nov '17, 23:05) The difference between the two shouldnt be that much, but afaik they follow a progressive system. What I think they will do is, First long ratings updated, then cook off, then LTIME, all summed up and then updated altogether. But nevertheless, I am not sure of it, hence will ping them on your Q. (25 Nov '17, 23:06) It's updated now!! (25 Nov '17, 23:51) kunnu1202★ So they left the long challenge rating as it is.. (26 Nov '17, 00:02) 1 Yeah, the discrepancy in the November Long ratings still exists. I mean, are you seriously gonna give +150 ratings to someone who codechef deemed as being involved in plagiarism and reduced their ranks to 7K ? Sounds absurd to me. (26 Nov '17, 00:29) dwij285★ They are going to deal with that. Once they're finished with their current things. (26 Nov '17, 02:44) showing 5 of 13 show all

2 What is the use of the Announcement "There is delay in ratings update" when everyone knew it :) Atleast should have stated we will update by so and so time. answered 23 Nov '17, 18:23 166●7 accept rate: 0% 1 People usually start panicking as such "Why are ratings not yet updated". An official notice about delay usually eases people out for few days :) (23 Nov '17, 18:30) Oh so indirectly the meaning is not that we forgot to update ratings but we are intentionally doing it :) (23 Nov '17, 18:32) Yes, you got it right! :) (23 Nov '17, 18:33)

Wish I could do anything about it XD (24 Nov '17, 10:17) 1 @vijju123 bro watch out I got guns!! (° ʖ °) XD (24 Nov '17, 11:39) kunnu1202★

-2 I think it will be better if the ratings of Cook-Off and Lunch Time are given together. answered 24 Nov '17, 00:44 2★ramini 61●5 accept rate: 8% and Why exactly? (24 Nov '17, 01:32) kunnu1202★ Perhaps he did very poorly in cook-off, will get demoted to 2 star. But if lunchtime ratings are combined and he does well in it then....:p (24 Nov '17, 01:47) lmao people only think about themselves!! XDXD (24 Nov '17, 02:09) kunnu1202★ I joined roughly around 17th July 2017 and I have appeared for 7 contests till date. I'm okay with what I am right now with the time I spend for coding. You are right that "I did very poorly in Cook-Off". But that is not going to be same all the time. BTW I didn't join in November 2016 or June 2017. Happy Coding!!! (24 Nov '17, 02:46) ramini2★ 1 But again, is it fair that you put forward a proposal affecting community with only your own selfish gain in mind? (24 Nov '17, 02:49) Selfish gain??? Wake up bro!!! You didn't understand my comment. I just said it in a fun way that the ratings are too late and it's better to give them together. If you can't understand, then keep silent. Don't come and answer for reputation. Good Bye!!! (24 Nov '17, 14:00) ramini2★ 1 Work on your writing skills if your post and/or comment were intended to be "funny". They look serious af. (24 Nov '17, 14:02) @ramini no offense but you could've used "XD" or a smiley face :) in your answer so that people can know that you're trying to be funnii (24 Nov '17, 14:20) kunnu1202★ showing 5 of 8 show all
