We will be posting periodic updates here about doubt support on the platform.

1. We took doubt support live about 2 weeks ago for problems with difficulty range 0 - 1000.

  • Doubt support was initially handled by @arjunarul and @hrishik85 .
  • Around the 1st of April - we sought volunteers as doubt solvers. We received applications from over 350 volunteers. 20 volunteers went live on doubt support from the 4th of April. You can find out about our doubt solvers here - Doubt Support | CodeChef
  • Approximately 600 unique users have asked doubts so far → out of which 150 have asked doubts on multiple days.

2. Next steps

  • Scale up the number of doubts that we can resolve and the quality of our
resolution, as measured by the Positive and Negative feedback, received.
  • In May - Introduce doubt support for problems in the 1000 - 1400 difficulty range.

3. Suggestions requested

  • If you feel that the quality of the doubt support you received was poor, or have additional improvement suggestions for us → please do post them here on this thread.

Introducing Doubt Support on 1-star level problems.

  • After getting amazing feedback and response for doubt support on Beginner level ( 0 – 1000 rating ) practice problems, we are excited to announce that we are now introducing doubt support to 1 star ( 1000 – 1400 rating ) problems as well from Tomorrow, Tuesday 26th April.

Here, you can ask your doubts related to each Practice problem:

  • Understand the logic to solve the problem

  • Debug your submission if it isn’t an AC

  • General queries related to rating, which problems to practice next, etc

Please Note:

  • The Doubt Support service will be available from 10 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. IST on all days of the week. However, we will increase the work timings as we get more doubt solvers.

  • Currently, the doubt support feature in the 1000 – 1400 difficulty range is free for all users. However, we firmly believe that to sustainably run this feature - we need to find the balance where users pay CodeChef for doubt support and doubt solvers get paid by CodeChef for their effort. We will make this transition by end of June.

Next Steps:

  • We will onboard more doubt solvers to start doubt support for the 1400 - 1600 difficulty range by June.

Suggestions:

  • Please report if you face any issues/abuse or have any suggestions to feedback@codechef.com. Alternately - you can share your grievance/suggestions on this post.
