Updates on curtailing plagiarism

Hi all - We will use this thread to update the community about plagiarism checks currently running on the platform.

We intend to ensure that plagiarism checks and points deduction for cheaters happens within 15 - 20 days of completion of each rated contest. We will publish relevant stats here.
While we will try our best to ensure that cheaters are caught, we may miss out on a few. We will start out by penalizing only the most obvious cases. We request everyone to report plagiarism cases on help@codechef.com within 3 days of each contest.
If you want to report a YouTube channel, or Telegram group or something similar which is publishing solutions during a contest, please fill this form.

@all appealing against plagiarism emails that was sent to you. Click here.

You would have received an email for every contest that you have been accused of plagiarism in. That email explicitly talks about how you can appeal against the accusation, and gives a particular time period for appeals, and ratings are dropped only after that period is over. And if you have replied within that time period, your ratings will not be dropped until all of your emails are read, the submissions pairs manually verified, and your email replied to.

So, search for that email and reply to it. If you can’t find the email for some reason, send an email to help@codechef.com. And wait for at least 3 weeks to get a reply - there are hundreds of appeals that have to be looked at, and it takes time. Posting on discuss isn’t going to help you.

But do note that if you send an email, and we find that it’s a frivolous appeal, we might permanently ban your account. So don’t email and waste our time if you have cheated.

If you are penalizing cheaters for a particular round, will the non-cheaters in that round be getting some increment in their current ratings ?

There are people who cheated in SnackDown and got their ratings increased no action on them yet.

Just See Their Ranks are almost same in every contest coz they used to submit one after the other.

Wth , these guys even cheated in div1 lunchtime too , and i just saw their profile that have been cheating from quite a long time with almost same ranks as you mentioned and still not caught . . .

This round needs serious investigation . Submissions of problem 4 increased from 298 to 850+ in the last half hour. So disappointing to see people doing this shit a lot

This solution was leaked on Youtube everywhere and the copied with their eyes closed @admin
Like forget about variable names, they didnt even bother to change the indentation.
Looks like almost everyones rating is about to decrease in this round XD XD.

Man, Cheating got started from starting itself. In the first hour, Submissions for problem B (Div.2) increased from 600 to 2000+.Submissions for Problem C and D also got increased exponentially.

Yeah ,but for a problem involving 2d dp and where greedy solution doesn’t work ,it sucks that so many undeserving noobs ,(among those the people who never even solved a simple dp problem ) even got placed better rank than you :(. FeelsBadMan
