Updates on curtailing plagiarism

As our rating is not going to be updated again by codechef with the updated rank

@apt_dpd @vedasjad - Ratings are recomputed every month.
After removing cheaters - ratings for all contests till 1st November have been recomputed.
Ratings for all contests till 1st Dec will be completed early next week.
So on every month.

Thank you for providing updates on the plagiarism checks and penalties on the platform. It’s important to have a fair and honest competition, and it’s good to see that efforts are being made to ensure that plagiarism is addressed in a timely manner. I used to code a lot in 2017.

Why would I cheat in any contest when I was in good form… and if I cheat, Why would I solve 0 problem after having 16 submissions ???

You will see such rampant cheating rarely on any platform than codechef. In today’s Starters 76 div 2 contest everything was going well like it is supposed to be. Then all of sudden in last 40 mins people started bombarding the problem E (Expected Values), success rate went from 8% to 60% submission went from 15 to 160. People started submitting right answer in herd.

So, my question to admin is are you also involved in this? What do you get by taking 3 hours of contest? Just so that enough cheaters can get the leaked solution.

Secondly, your rating system is crooked, Some people are sitting in top 50 AIR, that shouldn’t be even around 2000, why their rating didn’t decreased? While ours did.

Hereby, I quit codechef until you change your scammy format.

So, admins instead of deleting my posts. Can you reply to me that only with same page of submission I found 4 similar solution, they just changed variables name

This is just one page of checking among many wrong submissions, dumb people were copy pasting same code and were getting compilation error.

Atleast 70% to 80% of people cheated in this problem.

You can manually check them, there aren’t many submissions except of the cheaters

After removing cheaters will the rating and rank will be updated or not? I have not seen any change in rating from the past few contests once it has been assigned remains as it is.

Subject: Appeal of Penalty

Dear CodeChef Team,

I am writing to appeal the penalty I received on Feb 18, 2023 for reason for i caught for plagiarism in START77D. I believe that I have been wrongly penalized as I have not knowingly or unknowingly violated any of the policies outlined in the CodeChef Code of Conduct, FAQ, or the blog post on the cheating saga.

I have thoroughly reviewed the guidelines and policies and am confident that I have not violated any of them. I would appreciate it if you could review my case again and reconsider the penalty.

If there is any specific information or evidence that I need to provide to support my appeal, please let me know. I will be happy to provide it at the earliest.
