Not really, on the contrary I find challenge problems simpler because I can’t or rather don’t have to necessarily aim for full score, and can just use them for tie-breaking,or a little boost in score.
(Just doing the proper I/O gave me 99.3 pts in prev Long)
Ideally challenge problems are those which do not have fixed solution . There are many heuristics to solve them and your chosen way should be best in order to score maximum.
Whereas hard problems are the problems which requires great brain and practice to solve.
Simply, a challenge problem may be hard or easy but a hard problem is always hard.
