I think the setter would mostly be willing to write editorials for their problems. We have to write a brief editorial while submitting problems anyway. If for some reasons setter can’t write editorials, testers or the editorialist could take up the responsibility on per problem basis. The current model of not allowing setters to write editorials doesn’t sound right.

True. After hearing from Alei’s experience even I am more warm to this idea - just that I want someone to do quality control. The editorial stays long long after the contest is over so its quality should be as per expectations. But I think that can be easily implemented and the power given to contest admin(s)
