[closed] DataBread : TOOL TO TRACK YOUR ALGORITHMIC RATINGS

DataBread

Hello Guys,

I take the pleasure in introducing you to DataBread.

Following are some of it's great and unique advantages which you cannot find anywhere else.

  1. It is a tool where you get all your contest ratings in a generalized or aggregate form at one place(from CodeForces, CodeChef, HackerRank, SPOJ and HackerEarth for now).

  2. The website also has an option to add a link to your LinkedIn Profile. This makes the website an awesome choice for organisations which hire on the basis of Competitive Programming.

  3. Also the Leaderboard contains coders from all over the world. This can be filtered according to your Institution or Country name, so now it’s easy to find your Friends there.

  4. The User profile page consists of details about a particular user which include all of their provided usernames to their profiles and their LinkedIn Account links. You may reach the user profile page either directly through the Leaderboard or through the User Search Page.

  5. Also, the website is growing immensely, 200+ users Already onboard, and it's not even a month.

So for now, All the Best. Code Hard

UPDATE

Added Analysis on the User Profile Page Check Your Profiles HERE. It shows the percentage of your ratings taken in account while calculating DataBread Ratings.

Really Great job.

Keep up the good work.

:D

A new feature as many people suggested would be add customised friend list, that would make things easier.

Rest, a great job, easy to use and UI is also very great. Does exactly what it says.

Keep It up.

Btw why is the user who asked this question got suspended?

(23 Mar '17, 11:48) mathecodician6★
1

Yes, didn't see that before. Maybe that's why he didn't reply to my comments.

But he definitely read those, cause' the problem with the site has been fixed. I just saw that. That was really quick of him, I just posted it and it got fixed. :D

(23 Mar '17, 11:59) shivamiet1★

Nice Update.

Are you using python? I mean for the website backend?

@skbly7 I want to delete this question (or close it).

How to do that?

(25 Mar '17, 13:43) tushkitripathi0★

@tushkitripathi Why would you want to delete this topic? Is the website closing?

(25 Mar '17, 16:54) shubham_genius0★

@tushkitripathi Yes, the question can be closed if you say so. As you are the poster, shall I do that?

(25 Mar '17, 17:42) skbly72★
1

Will the question be completely deleted?

(25 Mar '17, 17:51) tushkitripathi0★
1

It will be read only.

(25 Mar '17, 17:53) skbly72★

According to @shraeyas the site's going to have few updates so as to make it more informative. It will take almost a month to make those updates and so he wants to make another post regarding the final website later(this was just beta version of site, just to look at the response of people).

If you can completely delete the question, that would be really good, if it's not possible then just close the topic. Thank You.

So far, I did not find anything extra to suggest. It even has link for LinkedIn Profile. I mean, you people essentially took care of everything, so I can just say that 'Bravo! Well done!!" :)

EDIT 1- BTW, what was the motive behind doing this? I am just asking what purpose you people had in mind when you all thought that "Yeah! Lets do this!". I might be able to give some suggestions if I know the aim. :)

@vijju123 Thank you so much for the appreciation. :D

As far as the motive is concerned, it was just to make sure that all of your progress in competitive programming is available at a single place. This can prove to be really helpful for organisations which shortlist candidates on the basis of competitive programming and save them from the headache of peeping into each of their profile individually.

Also you can filter the leaderboard according to your institution and rank yourself among your friends. Its always fun competing with friends.

If you like it why not give it a try? :)

I see. Then you have done a good job. You people included almost all major sites. The only thing I might say is that keep a track of such websites and keep on adding new ones/removing obsolete old ones. Staying updated with the trend is what will immensely help you. I wish you lots of success :)

Hey @apptica, You might have a look at StopStalk (https://www.stopstalk.com/). It retrieves all your submissions from Codechef, Codeforces, Spoj, HackerRank, HackerEarth, UVa and provides a detailed analytics on top of it. Though the motivation for creating StopStalk is completely different altogether. Good work @tushkitripathi :)

Hey @tushkitripathi,

nice job man, but you are not verifying user's handles of other website, so if User A want to use User B's codechef handle, he can use without any restriction. It is a big problem because it is directly impacting your leaderboard.

Each of the users details will be displayed on their profile page (take for example this profile http://databread.in/user.php?chusli ). So it can be verified. :D

(16 Mar '17, 23:10) tushkitripathi0★

but how will your leaderboard verify that all user handles are correct and belong to that user?

I am just saying that if you update your codechef user handle with any other's codechef handle, then how will the algo (which is behind the leaderboard) get to know that there is something wrong?

No, such posts are allowed as they are related to competitive programming only. While it was noticed that @tushkitripathi was wikifying and un-wikifying, posting and deleting comments, with probable purpose of bringing this thread to top.

Hence, that account got temporary suspended as warning. And it is back unsuspended. :)

It's a nice initiative but there should be a provision that you can see the leader-board of the friends after adding them rather than showing that entire leader-board to everyone(Just a suggestion).

Hey There guys,

@naksh9619 already suggested (thanks BTW).

Needed some suggestion. I am thinking of adding a new feature, a favourite (or friend) list.

I needed your views on whether that should be made public or not, i.e. should that favourite list be visible to everyone or just to that particular user.

Please leave your valuable comments below.

Thank You and

Happy Coding

Hey dear! It just occurred to me (trivial Q but its important nonetheless)-

How are you guys making sure that one is entering correct usernames? One may potentially abuse/exploit databread by entering wrong usernames.

Eg- Person X may enter username of some other person Y, who is a top coder/has high ratings on hackerrank/SPOJ etc to inflate his ratings or show himself a more desirable candidate by this ill-trick.

Since your motive was also directed towards organisations hiring individuals, how are you making sure that the information entered by the person is authentic?

(You don't have to tell how actually, just reply with Yes or No to imply that the issue has been already addressed to. :) )

Can you add a feature so that we can add other people's account. Because otherwise only a few people who get to know about this will be shown on the leaderboard and by using this feature we can add many more people so as to increase the size of the leaderboard.

It would be better if you share databread with your friends instead of adding them. This would help to maintain integrity of our database otherwise there could be duplicate users also.

This is our facebook page. You can share it with your friends.

And yes thanks for your suggestion :D

(17 Mar '17, 00:52) tushkitripathi0★

A small suggestion as you are showing the list of registered users to everyone irrespective of the person knowing the other person or not.So you can add a provision that a person has to add as a friend to see him/her in the leader-board rather than seeing him anonymously.

Sorry @naksh9619 but this is what the aim of the website is, to compare all the competitive coders at a single place. Also every website like codechef or spoj etc. also have public leaderboards so that should not be a problem.

Also if you wish to search for for friends then you might try filtering the leaderboard by your institution name.

Thanks :)

(17 Mar '17, 01:09) tushkitripathi0★

Filtering by institution name would create a chaos after all we have to search many colleges if our friends belong to various colleges.Don't you think so?
