I am writing to appeal the plagiarism penalty flagged for my submission in the START166C contest for the problem “CHRISTMAS GIFTS.”
I recently noticed that my solution was matched with five other participants, leading to a penalty on my account. However, I believe this flagging might be a mistake due to the simplicity and straight forward nature of the problem’s solution, which could result in similar implementations across different submissions.
The structure of the code and logic is bound to be similar, given the problem’s straightforward nature (calculating surface area and dividing a constant). I can confidently affirm that my solution was developed independently.
I sincerely request you to reevaluate the flagged submissions, considering the simplicity of the problem, which might have led to unintended similarities across multiple solutions.
Warm regards,
