Appeal for being wrongly penalised in STARTER166

@emperor100 @harshitacodes,
I recently noticed that my solution was matched with five other participants, leading to a penalty on my account. However, I believe this flagging might be a mistake due to the simplicity and straight forward nature of the problem’s solution, which could result in similar implementations across different submissions.
The structure of the code and logic is bound to be similar, given the problem’s straightforward nature (dividing 1000 by calculated surface area). I can confidently affirm that my solution was developed independently.
I sincerely request you to reevaluate the flagged submissions, considering the simplicity of the problem, which might have led to unintended similarities across multiple solutions.
please help me out, losing 275 points is very demotivating after working these months to achieve my rating

Subject: Request for Consideration Regarding Plagiarism in Contest START181D

Dear CodeChef Team,

I hope you’re doing well. I am writing in reference to the plagiarism notice I received related to the START181D contest, specifically for the problem FINDOUT.

I sincerely apologize for my mistake. I am a first-year student at IIIT Bhopal, and I am still learning the ethics and practices of competitive programming. During the contest, one of my friends asked me for help in understanding the problem. In an attempt to help, I shared my code with him, not realizing that he would directly submit it, and also share it further with another friend. I understand now that this was a serious mistake, and I take full responsibility for it.

It was never my intention to promote unfair means or violate CodeChef’s Code of Conduct. I genuinely respect the platform and the opportunities it provides to students like me to grow in the field of programming.

I kindly request you to consider this as a one-time mistake made due to lack of experience. I assure you that I have learned from this situation, and will never repeat such an act in the future. I humbly ask for one more chance to continue participating and learning through CodeChef.

Thank you for your time and understanding.

Sincerely,

Shubham Nayak
