Appeal Regarding Plagiarism Detection in Starters 189

Subject: Appeal Regarding Plagiarism Detection in Starters 189

Dear CodeChef Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

I recently received an email stating that my solution in Starters 189 (Rated) was flagged for similarity with another submission (Link: CodeChef: Practical coding for everyone)&(link: CodeChef: Practical coding for everyone). I would like to sincerely clarify that I wrote the solution entirely on my own and did not copy from or share my code with anyone, either knowingly or unknowingly.

I understand the seriousness of plagiarism and fully respect CodeChef’s rules and Code of Conduct. However, I strongly believe this might be a false positive, which can sometimes occur when:

Multiple users independently arrive at similar logic or structure, especially for simpler problems with limited approaches.

Common templates, standard input-output structures, or similar variable naming are used.

Coding styles or logic coincide due to standard patterns in competitive programming.

If required, I am more than willing to explain my thought process and walk through my solution to prove that the work was mine alone.

I kindly request you to review this case once again. I truly value CodeChef as a platform for learning and growth and would never knowingly engage in any misconduct.

Thank you for your time and understanding. I look forward to a fair reconsideration.

Warm regards,
Awdhut Pawar
