Your solution page isn’t visible until the contest ends so no one will be able to see the comments

You can ask in comment whatever you like.
Its on author that he chooses to answer or not.
Well, that’s not exactly true, at least if you act according to the guidelines given in the comments section:
In particular, you shouldn’t ask for additional testcases
