Yep… rank as well as how you stand against your opponents on the basis of your as well as their past performance.

The increase / decrease of your rating depends on your rank and your current rating too. For example, A person with 1500 rating getting 500 rank would get positive rating where as a person having 1900 or so rating already, getting around the same rank say 499, would get negative rating. Obviously there are more factors into play but this is just a simplification . You can refer to the article @suman_18733097 already shared.

in one line @devsachin007 if u want +ve delta , solve more question in less time , rating depends on too much factor like current rating previous ratings etc , so don’t say like this , also u r not new to this platform , and still u r saying like this .

Even attempting a question would put you on the leaderboard at a low rank. So, if you are attempting a question and it gets WA,TLE,Runtime error,etc. verdict, you will still be ranked. And yes, wrong attempts do give you penalty which would increase your submission time. I think its 10 mins for each wrong submission in cook off.

in feb short challange i solved 3 question the also my rating was decreased
and see this person
he got same rank as i got
and he is also have same rating as me
but there is a difference in rating change

did you even read my statement ? I already said that your current rating also matters. You had a higher rating than that guy before the contest so obviously you will lose more.

two of your submission shows the time that lies in between the contest time, so you are considered as a participant (if the time showing there is correct)
