My younger Brother is currently in 9th standard. He wanted to do competitive programming. He has some knowledge of QBASIC which he had learnt in 8th standard. Which language will be better to start - JAVA or CPP.
Cpp should be a good choice. Because in cpp you have to write less compared to java which helps in short contests. And almost 100% articles of competitive codings, algorithms,codes are available in cpp.

he shld learn c++
java is not for CP(altho i do)
its more for dev purposes
since he is in 9th std learning c++ will help him if he chooses to pursue CS/IT
