How can I solve algorithmic questions (i.e. ZIO/ZCO ones)

Hi there, hope you are good.

I’ve been giving ZIO for the past 2 years (ZIO-2020 & ZIO-2021) but I feel like when I solve the questions, I do not apply the algorithms I should apply, instead I use my own logic and calculate the answers manually - which is not one’s supposed to do in there :neutral_face: (and the results due to this are not satisfying)…

I am well able to understand the algorithms I learn, but I am not able to figure out the perfect/required algorithm which I should use for any particular question… How can I develop a practice of solving questions, with the algorithms I should use to find the answer? So I could refine my ability of algorithmic thinking and problem solving with them?

Thanks a lot for your advice. Is there anything else I can do in order to train myself for applying algorithms everytime?
