How to go for all the 4 or 5 problems of a contest?

Yesterday I tried for 2 hours on the first problem. How to increase speed and efficiency ?
Please provide some tips 3* and 4* coders . How you achieved it ?

I’m not kidding btw. Speed just came to me naturally as I participated in more contests.

Use a stopwatch and make notes of where your speed decreases(like while solving a number theory part,etc). Work on those.
