The best team for Amritapuri from our university was ranked at 58 (they had successfully submitted SUMOR) before SUMOR removal and we (second best team) were ranked at 148.
The first team was selected from our institute and we were not.
Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology, Gandhinagar had two teams ranked at 122 and 210 before SUMOR removal, and both were selected for Amritapuri regionals.
Same in IIT Roorkee teams with rank 110 and 165 were selected
Why were we not selected ?
Edit: I think the top 14 temas which were in top 80 before removing SUMOR are selected after selecting 80 +149 teams. If this is the case then it is totally unfair.

Well the selection criteria is crystal clear on the website, if any team with rank >80 is selected and is not the first in institute, it means that they have rank <= 80 in the ranklist in which SUMOR has been removed. So if your team had rank < 150 and was not selected, chances are you got AC in SUMOR problem with (wrong)sub-standard solution.
