Is Object-Oriented Programming a Trillion Dollar Disaster?

The main objective of developing object-oriented programming paradigm was to manage the complexity of functional/procedural programming paradigm. But, some of the developers/experts state that β€œit is taking a lot of time and brainpower in thinking about abstraction and design patterns (in object-oriented programming paradigm) instead of finding the solution of our actual real-life problems.”

Considering yourself as an expert of object-oriented programming do you agree with the above-mentioned statement? Give your opinion (yes/no) with two solid reasons.

I dont think so its disaster or mistake
am not an expert tho but hav spent some considerable amount of time to explore both type of lang
I personally find OOP is useful
its actually more easy to think world around you as objects rather that series of events(procedures)
