It's all on you Codechef

Very narrow-minded to suggest that its either YOUR suggestions or NO other way.

People who are cheating & those who are helping them in cheating, we canā€™t do anything about them. Leave that aside I have seen people using multiple accounts, what they do is try to solve the problem from first account and then do some modification and submit it from another. So that their graph shows more correct answer then wrong ones. ( I reported two such accounts yesterday).

Wait. Do incorrect submissions even matter in long?

of course not, but i think beside ratings they are also working on green portion of their Pie chart.

And this isnā€™t for Long Challenge only, they do the same for Cookoff and Lunchtime.

i solved DRCHEFF in one attempt too and chfswap in 2. but took more than 6 attempts to get partial dragons and dens. so it varies

Yeah, I know it varies. but if you check out the profile I pointed out, do you really think itā€™s possible for him.

I have a better choice for you:
If youā€™re having so much trouble with codechef long challenges that it depresses you, you should stop partcipating. Enjoy the short challanges. There are many other websites: codeforces, atcoder, topcoder etc.

no its not not upto the mark . its contestant right to get their rank with other contestants so that they can compet more .
and we can check our solution where we are getting WA or TLEā€¦

ABSOLUTELY RIGHT.

This is good advice, butā€¦ from experience, itā€™s not so easy to stop in that situation.

Sir,
Even if moss catches the culprits about(approximately) how much percentage similarity in codes will codechef considers as acceptable ???

Donā€™t know exactly how they deal with it. but it should be atleast 85%. In a blog on quara it is stated that after it they manually check the codes.(But i donā€™t believe on it).

Yeah, Exactly, Coding is addiction for me. May be I am not as good as most of the programmers in Codechef and Codeforces, but itā€™s like I canā€™t resist myself from participating in Long or Cook-off or Lunch time and seeing myself in the ranklist.

When the automated tool detects similarities among any solutions, a Mail will be sent to the respected users. Theyā€™ll have to give due attribution to what they submitted as their solution. If they fail to convince the Codechef authority, their rating will be decreased. Two or more such events will result in Ban of accounts too.

Bro Iā€™m also a beginner, I would suggest that if you are not capable to solve all question ( letā€™s say you can skip 1 or 2 question) then you shouldnā€™t check ranklist. Because there will be cheaters and you gonna demotivate yourself at last.

Yeah, I decided not to participate in Long Challenges. Good that one can see the questions without logging in when the contest is going on. So, I will better not log in and practice those questions instead of participating and making myself a fool.

if you have fear of loosing ratings, not getting a better rank. Then bro let me tell you that this is the reason why people cheat.

Thats true

I donā€™t know how codechef does it - but I guess they will have different thresholds of similarity for different problems. A problem like in a list of 100 numbers, find the smallest number. All the answers will be similar. Further, before issuing bans - I suppose a mod will review your code to figure if you cheated.

Reducing the length of the contest from 10 days to 5 days could help.
Any thoughts on this?
