MYSARA testcase help!

Can someone please explain me the first case involving 2,3 ?

Representing in binary,
2 = 10
3 = 11
It is obvious that A_1 will be 2
Now, 10 or A_2 should result in 11
For the first bit of A_2, we have only one choice: 1. This is because 0 or 1 results in 1 and there is no other possibility.
For the second bit of A_2, we have two choices: 0 or 1. This is because 0 or 1 and 1 or 1 results in 1 . Therefore there are 2 possibilites.
The final answer is 2*1=2
