Rating issues

I was penalised by codechef and was awarded zero rating due to that. After which I attempted May Challenge and solved 5 question, my rank was 502 and was awarded +128 rating. So overall my current rating is 128
My friend attempted the same, rank around 1338 and solved four question and was awarded +168. Can anyone explain the logic behind this??

Anyone please help as to on what basis it is being evaluated

Please atleast look at forums first. This issue was reported earlier. I am already looking into it.
