So I wrote starters 122 yesterday, with lot of efforts and many attempts… I was able to do 3 problems by myself and could successfully submit them, But I had no increment in my rating… so it was 1529 before contest and now it reduced to 1522 how is that possible??
and I finished those problems within 45 minutes… generally rating increases after solving certain problems right, why did this happen to me. Last week as well, I did 3 questions only… but had a decent increment in rating
please look into this matter & also explain me the mechanism plz
In starters 121, the third question was rated 1426, which you solved. You also achieved rank 1221. Thus, your rating went up from 1445 to 1529. You were in the top 27%.
In starters 122, the third question was rated only 1341. You achieved a rank of 2699 (more than double the previous rank). You were barely among the top 50% (top 49.45% to be exact).
Rating is not based on how many problems you solve, instead, it is based on your rank. In any contest, the summation of the deltas(rating changes) of all participants is 0.
Just try to perform better than others! If You solve few problems, you need to do it very fast, or else do more problems using as much time as required.
