its already past a day since the april’s long challenge has come to an end, yet the ratings are not updated.
could you please tell me the approximate time taken to update the rating after the contest ends?

I think you must have read the announcement on the contest page. There are a lot of submissions for the Challenge Problem this time and so the scores for it have to be re-evaluated. I think that the rating must get evaluated tomorrow or at max, the day after tomorrow.
As per the announcement after the long challenge ended, Codechef will take upto 2 to 3 days to complete final testing and update ratings due to large participation this time.
