But nothing really happened.

In November Cook-Off 2021 Division 2 there was mass cheating in question 3 and 4 .

One can easily see that last 20-30 submissions specially have same main function() code , even with naked eyes someone can conclude that it is copied.

Wth is that like 30 people among 45. Insane. I was totally demotivated seeing everyone solving a second problem while i was stuck getting WAs lol. Sad though at this rate codechef rating will not remain credible either.

yesterday I mailed around 30 users who have the same code of 5th problem div2 cause all solutions are the same, as I was not able to solve problem 5 so I was checking how someone attempted this problem but all have the same solutions.

Sometimes it feels that Codechef lowkey wants this, because

more cheaters == more traffic

they are simply a money making website, who doesn’t care about their users anymore.

Yes, CodeChef promised to do plagiarism check within a week after SnackDown 2021 - Online Pre-Elimination and permanently ban cheaters from the platform. This hasn’t happened yet, but there’s still technically 1 day left until the promised deadline. And I’m not very much concerned even if they miss the deadline by a few days. As long as the plagiarism check actually gets completed before the next SnackDown round.

Based on this chart (originally posted in a comment on codeforces by @aropan), there was a clearly visible group of around 300 cheaters in SnackDown 2021 - Online Pre-Elimination (the number of actual SLIPPERS at the end of the contest minus the number of expected SLIPPERS if we look at the chart up to 2:24:00 and extrapolate).

Check actual comment to which I replied and a comment above it.
You will see that it was a reply to a promise to perform plagiarism checks for Codechef Snackdown Round-1A (where we had massive cheating going on) before Pre-Elimination Round. I have found this comment (and thread) today and decided to bring it up again (like I did here) because in both cases plagiarism checks were promised to be done before Pre-Elimination and they didn’t!

As for Pre-Elimination plagiarism checks I’m also perfectly fine to wait more than one day if they will be done properly. Moreover, I’d rather have Elimination Round postponed because of this issue than to have all these cheaters participating in it. Moreover, if CodeChef cannot do that properly by themselves - I and maybe few more interested/annoyed by a cheating people from a community would be able to help with that by at least reporting cheaters who are gonna pass to Elimination Round otherwise or even by improving their anti-plagiarism software (if there will be enough time to do that).
