What do we call the argument (variable or its value) of a function in Javascript?

OK lets take an example:

function student(name,age){
document.write("I am " + name + "and I am " + age + " years old." );
}
var student_name = "Divyansh";
var student_age = 17;
student(student_name,student_age);

// NOW MY QUESTION IS WHAT DO WE CALL THE ARGUMENTS OF THE FUNCTION STUDENT :

(a) IS IT THE VARIABLE: student_name & student_age RESPECTIVELY,

(b) OR IS IT THE VALUE CONTAINED BY THE VARIABLES: Divyansh & 17 RESPECTIVELY
