sad to say, better luck next year buddy

if you are ranked like close to 800 then you’ll get the preferred site (kol or kanpur). For amritapuri, it depends whether your rank is odd or even XD thats impossible to predict!

I think you are absolutely correct. Like the third problem what plagiarism test are you going to conduct in that. A problem that only has 1 soln and that too of one line.

okay, I did not consider the PENDING ones hence slight variance :stuck_out_tongue:

It is taking more than expected time in analyzing plagiarism cases. So the Result of Preliminary Online Contest will be announced by 6:00 PM on 17th November, 2017.

I guess last year it was a lot faster. This year there no confirmation till now. With each day the date is getting postponed. Perhaps today also it won’t get published!

Its better to ping @vijju123 or any other moderator so they can tell us the expected date for results after consulting @admin.

mine too…

Considering that there are 250 seats…will any seat be even left out "after applying the first selection criteria so that the better ranked teams are given chance to participate.

same here!

Any idea how they would know who got answers from stackexchange? My soln for 3 was kinda one liner and i guess most have the same. And idk any other approach for this. So most probably this was also posted on stack exchange.

Amritapuri website also modified it to 17th .Hope we get it today itself

Amritapuri is not clear in the explanation of the selection criteria

@boxisgreat The first selection criteria is top team from each institution with at least one correct answer is selected first. “After” applying this criteria they will use their 10% rule only on teams that have solved at least three problems. I wonder how they will do that since slots are 250 and unique solvers are 269.

Slots are 250 and unique institutions are 269!
I wonder how they will do it.
And regarding your third point, they’ll make sure that not more 10% teams are taken from a single institution.

Does the 3rd point even hold good? 269 unique college teams have solved at least one problem. So seats are already filled up even before they can select based on point no. 3

These 4.5 hrs will be dreaded to cut for you I guess :stuck_out_tongue: (Assuming something unexpected doesnt lead to *cough* further delays)

@vijju123 Amritapuri haven’t announced the time of result announcement. We might have to wait more than 4.5 hours :3
