I am writing regarding the disqualification and rating penalty applied to my account (ankushjain_05) in Starters 193 (Rated). I was informed that my submission (CodeChef: Practical coding for everyone) was found to be similar to another user’s (CodeChef: Practical coding for everyone).
I would like to respectfully clarify that I did not engage in any form of cheating or unauthorized collaboration. The code I submitted was entirely my own work. I understand that sometimes, in competitive programming, solutions to certain problems—especially standard or straightforward ones—can look very similar across different participants. This similarity can happen due to common coding practices, standard algorithms, or even simple problem statements that don’t leave much room for variation in approach.
I kindly request the CodeChef team to re-evaluate the context and style of the solutions rather than just structural similarities. I am 100% confident that my submission is original. I have always followed the CodeChef Code of Conduct and respect the integrity of competitive programming.
