how did you guys solve the last question? I was using bruteforce with some common sense and when I saw numbers descending after 59 I left it thinking all number after 59 will be there. How did you guys spot 53 was missing? did you go through the whole thing?
How is 9th one 77? I’m getting 76 because, firstly |x-y|should be minimum. For those values of X and y , X+y must be maximum. I got |x-y|=0.
X+y=76. X= 38 and y=38 I got. correct me if I am wrong.
I don’t think using 38 as a cutoff was adding up to 16, I think it was increasing the qualified candinates to 17.
39 and 38 were the correct cut offs

for the last test case “58” in folding paper Question,
how this is 19
The last test case wasn’t 58, it was 2000.
For 58, the answer is achieved at (32,16)
For 2000, the answer is achieved at (1024,512)

problem 1 can be done using prefix sums too

It is 104. It was direct formula floor(n^2)*2-1. You can check it matches all cases. I finished the paper in like 30 minutes cause I knew this and people were dividing each number on their screens😂
