ICPC India Regionals Online Round 2019 - Updates

Best solution is to remove the Game of OR problem and adjust ranklist accordingly. Here is why:

  1. Those teams who didn’t attempt because they found corner-case will be happy with it.
  2. Those teams who got AC during contest, shouldn’t have got an AC then. And even if they knew that, there wasn’t any way they could’ve changed their solution to get it done since there exists none as of now. So it’s not unfair for them as well.

It’s just that few teams got undue advantage during contest by getting AC inspite of wrong solution and few are at disadvantage by not submitting anything. So scraping the problem is the right way to balance it out!

Codechef has already given the ranklist to the regionals. Most probably nothing will happen now. Let’s make peace with this fact.

where can I access the problem statements?

Not really. Read the post. Codechef has forwarded the ranklist alongwith the issues and concerns. Now it’s upto the regional directors to decide.

My rank was 1788 according to codechef ranklist…and 1 in my cllg,Is there any chance for selection for onsite round in amritapuri region? As the expected rank list for amritapuri shows it 279.

How about waiting until the results are out, why are people running analytics and making expected ranklists and all…

The same reason as you checked your JEE rank using different rank predictors! :stuck_out_tongue:

No, it isn’t the right way to balance it out obviously. I’ll copy paste CF comment here

ps: whether or not problem is discarded, our qualification remains unaffected.

What about the leading zeros statement written in question one? Is it fair to put wrong statements in the question.

As far as I can see from the ranklist, some teams in our college got penalties because of this and now the penalties are removed.

Yes, I believe. Many applied for both Kanpur and Amrita. They can’t appear on both as it is very difficult to travel in short duration.
People who applied for Amrita would not get train tickets. So, they will not appear.
Pretty good chance I believe.

That’s obviously their fault they spent the entire time behind a single problem and not look at those other 2 which they think they could’ve ACed.

Also coming up with a wrong solution is of no credit. Period.

Umm that’s why there are sample input output cases, did u see leading zeros in those? Or did u see the problem statement had written it somewhere that leading zeros are allowed?

They are providing compensation for penalties of a problem which was correct, and they did nothing for problem which was wrong :expressionless:
