Yeah, that’s right. I’ve learned some very complicated algorithms, but now I’ve almost forgotten them because I haven’t practiced them.
which code are you talking about? And why your rating here is 6 and on page is zero?
My star is 6 may be a web site‘s bug, you don’t care for it, your code is very concise, I like it.
Forgetting is not a problem. Problem is environment. I need competitive programming teachers and peers to discuss to get a little bit what so called motivation. People around me are at top of college but they are top in ECE and not CP. Is it beneficial to go in CP for students like me.
Same this side. People around me are also very good in academic subjects but very few of them are interested in cp.
I’m CSE but still no one is that inclined towards CP here around me, and I’m also new to CP, and too late I guess.
you do only long challenges. My rating also increase for long but for speed I do lunch and cook but rating then decrease drastically. Any suggestions? My codeforces profile is very bad. That means my solving skills reduce by 40% if I have speed limit on my mind.
I do short contests more than long. But not on Codechef. Increasing rating is easy when its already low. Don’t think that just doing long is sure shot way to increase rating. Long problems are much harder+you need to be in top-100 of div-2 couple of times in Long to come to div-1. And then, in Div.-1 always get top-150 rank to maintain a respectable rating. Doing these maybe easy for you …but hard for me and many others. … Today , I gave All India Coding Club Short Contest and my rank was 20. I would say practice is all you need.
@anon55659401 Even i want to thank you buddy!! I started my cp journey in jan2019(as my new year reso :/) by literally reading your article on quora and uptill today i have learnt a Lot!!
Welcome
I love helping people. And I request you to help other beginners as well
Yep sir i am trying my best !! But i better solve diophantine equation cuz i have got no time(20 hrs to be precise)

Yes
And I should be focusing on Xor over trees
Karan,
Can you tell us your routing for solving problems? Like how much time did you put into it, how many hours a day, and the resources you used? Please, you are really amazing.
Hey I know it’s most hard that’s why I asked you to give advice for short contests. No offense.
How did you rank up really fast here on CodeChef?
Here’s a link to my answer on quora

thanks bro it was really helpful answer on quora thanks for the link
Its amazing that you reached 5 star in less than a year…
how did you manage to learn so fast??
great
Ya you need to think a lot specially in long challenges and implementing a solution also may need some prerequisite and extra knowledge of stl, algorithms, etc…
