I agree to this statement partially, I came to codechef from one such video, I would not have come to codechef and learned a language if I hadnât watched that video, the youtuber isnât encouraging the people to cheat, if people can, they will cheat. Genuine question, why doesnât codechef have a plagiarism checker? Iâve heard those work on university essays.

Codechef has a plagiarism checker known as MOSS, but it takes time to check 1000s of submissions. And MOSS actually checks if 2 codes are similar, but if someone knows the logic, and then codes it his/her own wayâŚnot even MOSSâs granddaddy can do something abt it. And this isnât something that can be detected.
Now whether you will learn and then code it or just ask someone to tell you how to solve is entirely upto u. But then again we have the famous rule no 9

I asked the reasoning behind that rule but the admin did not reply. It is totally bizzare IMO. There is no way you can tell if the âteamâ has used only 1 id to submit.

In order to solve the harder problems of long, one usually needs a lot of knowledge regarding different topics. I believe that when the rules were formed, everything wasnât as easily googleable as they are now. So the rule might have been added.
But yeah, it can be scrapped now, as a lot of people can use it the wrong way.

Iâm new to CP and solving 4 questions without cheating gave me so much moral boost to continue CP more. But, seeing these things happening nowadays is really shameful and I donât know how will I get better rankings in a shorter span.

Will making unrated solve this issue of cheating ? and wen u are saying make it unrated think about those too who have spent a day or two to get AC ,wen u r making a decision think about it from a wider perspective someone has spent their hrs for few questions and just because someone has cheated why should the punishment be given to all , think before saying something

current rank is 200 but tomorrow my rank will be 500 or 600 bcs at last moment lots of people will get magic ideas and solve all problems in last hours.

Yes @admin please and please its a dear request atleast unrate this current jan long challenge since such huge amount of cheating has taken place this time.
Atleast once listen to us and give the cheaters a sense of demotivation for cheating for 10 long days. PLEASE!!!
I know that many people have solved the questions with very much hardwork and we should not disgrace them by making it unrated, but for how long us coders will suffer and disappoint of not getting good ranks escpecially newbie coders like me.

The only thing left for cheating to achieve now is posting of Code on Codechef Discuss (that day will also come) , all other thing are at par I believe .
Thatâs not something that is left out either, There are uncountable instances where some unrated account posts his/her entire (unformatted 
)code on discuss forum and asking to debug it while the contest is live.

That happens because may be they donât know of rules , I have not seen anyone posting his AC solution on CC Discuss till now or a post regarding paid solution .
